Drug Mafia Smashed in Kishtwar , Conduit Arrested and drug Recovered | KNO

KISHTWAR,NOV 15 (KN0) : In its continuous drive against the drug peddlers, Kishtwar Police has smashed a well knit drug racket in Tagood-Chatroo area of Kishtwar here today .The police had specific information that some persons have engaged school going children, youth of the area and the women to extract the Charas from the cannabis plant and collect the same from them against small payments. After collection the drug peddlers sell the drug (Charas) to the youth in and around the Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas against huge payments.Further developing the information, police party led by SHO Police station Kishtwar, Sameer Jillani under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters Nihar Ranjan and under the directions of SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary laid special nakas in the town to arrest the culprits. The police party at Dak Banglow Chowk naka intercepted one of the man accused Tulsi Dass S/o Kunj Lal R/o Heya Tagood, Tehsil Mughal Maidan, Kishtwar and on his personal search recovered 1.5 kg charas from his possession. On recovery of the drug police party conducted the legal formalities on the spot and arrested the drug peddler. Police has registered case FIR No. 233/2017 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act in this connection at Police station Kishtwar and has started the further investigations. As per the police sources more arrests are likely be made in near future.Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary informed that during the interrogation the accused Tulsi Dass has stated that to prolong his drug peddling activities he used to use women and school going children to avoid police action. The police has successfully smashed the drug mafia in Tagood area and few more arrests shall be made shortly in this regard, said the SSP (KNO)
